Turf Fen Windpump - Norfolk Broads

fen_snapz's picture

A lovely area for photography, from parking at the nature reserve car park there are ample walks, some boathouses and an assortment of different types of windpump including some unusual skeletal windpumps, assorted wildlife and plantlife- reeds and sedge can be found around here, butterflies, dragonflies and woodland trails. Very busy boating route along the broads by the windpump, so going outside of summer peak season is recommended to try to get still water within the shot. Ideal location for sunset as the sun sets just beyond the pump, there can be lots of moored boats which can prove compositionally difficult and very popular with other photographers. When I was last there in September I counted 17 other photographers gathered on one small stretch of river!

A very nice location. Particularly good at sunset. Also a very pleasant spot for a walk or a picnic and theres a fascinating small marshmans cottage musuem so can be good for occupying the family whilst you wait for the light!

Be careful about parking in the car park if shooting sunset though, as the gates are locked about that time, so probably best to park at the entrance (without blcoking acsess). Likewise if you get there for sunrise make sure you don't block the gates for when the car park is opened.

When I was assigned to do the best essay writing service australia. I always went and sat next to a windmill so that it made my mind fresh. This way I was able to write a better piece.
