Staithes, North Yorkshire

A lovely location, a great town with a good coffee shop at the top of the hill to one side of the inlet.
There are two sides to this town, with a small footbridge crossing the harbour. Best views are from the West side of the bridge, which gives a great view of the inlet and harbour, especially at night when it is all lit up.
Many of the houses are holiday homes, so if you want the best effect with lighting, then 9pm on a Summer weekend would yield best results with the largest numbers of lights on.
The houses in the harbour have lots with red slate tiles on the roof which makes for an interesting shot, and most houses are in hues of red, white and blue, which gives opportunity for some interesting compositions.
Check tide times, as getting the tide in, co-inciding with sunset or twilight would make much better compositions.
