Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley

ChalkieBolton's picture

The Singing Ringing Tree is near Burnley, it is one of the four Lancashire 'Panopticons' (meaning a structure, space or device providing a comprehensive or panoramic view) artworks located across Pennine Lancashire. The Singing Ringing Tree is a unique musical sculpture in the form of a wind-blown tree, designed by award-winning architects Tonkin-Liu. Catching the westerly winds, the pipes emit an intriguing melodic sound.

Great location, lots of different points of view. Boast beautiful panoramic views over the surrounding moors. Very dark at night and therefore suitable for Astrophotography. It always seems to be blowing a gale at this location, so wrap up warm.
