Pulteney weir, Bath

stadds2's picture

The famous horseshoe shaped, Pulteney weir is just downstream from the iconic, shop-lined Pulteney Bridge which crosses the River Avon in the Centre of Bath. This is a very well known location, but has tremendous scope for photography. It can be very busy on any given day with large parties of school/tourists. Ideally visit on a bright day with an interesting sky, or twilight when the area is flood lit. There are numerous other locations within Bath, for example the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. All are within walking distance of each other, so explore! There is accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets. Thoroughly worth a day or two with the camera.

Location is suitable for the following types of photography
