Porth Nanven, St. Just, West Cornwall

midlander1231's picture

Porth Nanven is sometimes referred to as 'Dinosaur Egg Beach' because of its remarkable ovoid boulders covering the beach and foreshore. A much loved and photographed location. Big round, glacial rocks and wonderful sunsets. A good location all year round. It's best to shoot at low-medium tide when the sandy beach is revealed.

I've been to Cape Cornwall and St. Just loads of times as I have family living in the area but didn't know that the beach was so photogenic, I'll be paying it a visit at some point in the future.

I too have family living in the area and they weren't aware of this little beach. So i was able to educate them on what is on their doorstep when I made a recent visit. Unfortunately it was a flying visit and it coincided with high tide, still it's a top location.
