Low Force, Teesdale, County Durham

DavidB's picture

Low Force is a series of small Falls and one large Fall on the River Tees up at the far (western) end of Teesdale. In addition to the Falls, there are some interesting pools and rock formations to photograph also. Best for late afternoon/early evening March -May and September -November.

Please don't confuse with the High Force Falls which are further down the valley and which you drive past to get to Low Force. High Force is also a good location, but you have to pay an entry fee AND it's very busy, usually. In my view, Low Force offers better photographic possibilities.

Location is suitable for the following types of photography

B6277 Barnard Castle
County Durham DL12 0XF
United Kingdom

Dramatic Waterfall and river gorge location, an easy 0.5 mile walk from the B6277 road at Bowlees, Co. Durham.
