Henrhyd falls, Colbren, Wales

I believe this is the tallest waterfall in Wales and is a spectacular photo location. Getting into position to take photos is not easy as the footpath from the car park is very steep and the little wooden bridge over the river can be slippery, not too bad going down but is really quite a climb on the way back up. Avoid days following heavy rain as it seems as though the whole of the Brecon Beacons flows over this waterfall so best opportunities are during dry periods.

I think the best place to shoot this waterfall from is in the stream directly below it so you can capture the movement of the water as a lead in, that said you can actually walk behind this waterfall  so could make for some interesting shots. As ever around waterfalls there's a lot of spray in the air so remember to take some lens cloths.

Also in the area is the Wales Ape and Monkey sanctuary.
