Hawkcraig Point, Aberdour, Scotland

nico1065's picture

On the shores of the River Forth lies this little known location under Hawkcraig Cliffs. The now derelict pier was erected in 1866 for paddle-steamers carrying day-trippers across the Forth from Edinburgh, however when the railway came to Aberdour in 1890 the demand for the service declined and the demise of the pier shortly followed. This location is best shot at sunset using a long exposure.

Room with a view is a hotel opposite the location.
