Halo - Panopticon, Rossendale valley

Pork's picture

The "Halo" Panopticon is one of a series of sculptures across the Rossendale valley. It a steel sculpture measuring 18mtrs wide and 5mtrs high. And is lit at night with an array of LED lights.

You could visit this location any time for photographs, but this is a great place at night as it is lit up and looks like a space ship! Access it really easy, and a short walk from the car, so you could take any photo equipment you like. Star trails, long exposure, light painting, wire wool spinning, sun rise and sun set, are all worth a try. Theirs also some great panoramic views of the Rossendale valley.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful location! Your image is excellent, one of the best light painting shots that I've ever seen. It almost looks like some sort of space craft on a different planet, great stuff.

Thanks for the kind words Mr Admin. I did toy with the idea of photoshopping out the legs on the structure, to make it more like a UFO, lol.
