Godrevy Point, Hayle, Cornwall

stoddsie's picture

Godrevy point, near Hayle in Cornwall sits at the northern most tip of Halye's 3 mile long golden beach. However, from a photographers perspective Godrevy point is far more photogenic, supporting interesting rock outcrop formations. Owing to its exposed location it takes the full force of the Atlantic swell and thus can be a great location for dramatic shots. However remember to be careful with the tides, at high tide parts of the beach become inaccessible!

My example shot is a long exposure taken at 7am, remember filters to help control those exposures. This location supports a wealth of photo potential not least being a beautiful spot overlooking St. Ives bay and Godrevy lighthouse. You can also often observe a family of seals at this exact point.
