Gloucester Docks

Jolly John's picture

Gloucester is the most inland port in Britain. The docks are dominated by towering warehouses which stand proud along the water’s edge. Gloucester Docks has enjoyed a substantial facelift over the last few years, seeing new shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. There is something for everyone here, historic and modern architecture, marine vessels, historic industrial equipment and even street style photography. It does get busy at weekends, and lunch times during the week, so probably best to get there early if you want peace and quiet.

Worth visiting the Gloucester Waterways Museum if you have time to spare.
