Carnoustie, Angus

Sleepy66's picture

You can visit this location from sunrise to sunset. I prefer a dry day with a mixture of sun and cloud, but it is a good place to be regardless of the weather. As well as the waterfront there is also a playpark, so if you want, you can make it into a family day out. Would recommend a warm jacket, as sometimes the wind is really strong, if you are going down to the beach, waterproof footwear is advisable especially when the tide has just gone out, the beach is a sandy beach. But when the sun is shining it is a great place to be and can get busy.

If need be you can look up the website of www.ourcarnoustie.co.uk, where you can find out local information. Also on their website is a walking route map which takes you around Carnoustie, pointing out some of our landmarks and places of interest.

Just outside Carnoustie is Barry, where there is a Mill, there is a small charge if you go there if you intend to go in. I Think it is run by the National Trust, so if you are a member I think you get in for nothing or a minimum charge. Other places near by is Arbroath, Monifieth, Broughty Ferry and Dundee. Behind Carnoustie there are 2 country parks - Crombie and Monikie.

I have added another photograph of the waterfront in Carnoustie, forgot to mention that we have 2 golf courses and have had some major tournaments here.

Any comments or suggestions about my photographs are welcome.
