A beautiful 5 miles walk through the glens of two rivers, which I was advised would take 2-2 1/2 miles, but was getting on for over 3 hours by the time I had finished faffing and photographing.

Ribblehead Viaduct is nestled in between the 3 great peaks in the Yorkshire Dales, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen Y Ghent. It can be visited any time of year, but can get very busy in the summer months.

Ribblehead is most impressive under cloudy moody skies.

Sandsend, 2 miles north of Whitby. A good starting point for the cliff path northwards. The beach is north-east facing and ideal for winter sunrise. Also good for atmospheric long exposure shots during grey weather, and drama in higher winds.
