Tintern abbey is situated in a steeply wooded valley/gorge alongside the river Wye. The Abbey - under the care of CADW ( welsh version of English Heritage) is derelict with only a small part of the building having a roof.

Dean wood has a large amount of bluebells. Easy parking at the roadside and an easy walking into the woods. Fairly flat and even, so suitable for most people. Also views from the edge of the wood across fields towards Didcot Power Station.

When I wan't the weather had been reasonably dry with only a little rain, this meant that the waterfall wasnt as strong as it could have been, that said, I am fairly happy with what I got.

Timing can be important with any location, obviously the park can be busy and its handy to have ideal sunlight such as late Autumn, Winter and early Spring unless you get up very early in the morning or late evening sunset.
