Pease Bay

If you like coastal scenery then you will love this place. A sandy beach, a beautiful cove and a traditional harbour.

There are clifftop footpaths which you can follow to explore the area. The bay is very popular with surfers, a potential candid subject?

There are a number of great photo opportunities in this location, not only Durdle Door itself but the adjoining Man of War bay and Lulworth Cove. Great at sunrise and sunset, but be aware the area does get really busy during the summer months and holiday weekends.

The lighthouse at Portland Bill is a well photographed landmark but no two photos are the same due to the variable weather encountered in the area. The rock formations and cliffs in the surrounding area offer a wealth of photographic opportunities.

A Grade I listed building, the pier at Clevedon is a particularly elegant Victorian structure with bags of photographic potential. Take care negotiating the rocks adjacent to the beach either side of the pier as they're covered in weed and can be very slippery.

"Jacob's Ladder" is a set of wooden steps, which lead from Connaught Gardens down to the beach. Painted brilliant white, they look great against a clear blue sky - lots of potential for graphical type abstracts with a wide-angle lens.

Check tide times - this location is not accessible at high tide and best to visit on a falling tide as there is a risk of being cut off on a rising tide.
