I visited in autumn 2105,when the leaves were just starting to turn. The Forestry commission who own the site have a log cabin tea stand just back from the rock and do a good pasty for lunch. Telephoto lenses are  a must here, usually some birds of prey nesting on ledges in the cliff face, easily visible from the viewpoint. For the energetic, there is a footpath (and many many steps!) down to the pub and river at Symonds Yat
